Project Description

DANGERFIELD WAY

FAIRFAX STATION, VIRGINIA
2017

The original house was a builder-grade house that the Homeowners wanted to remodel into a more custom, luxurious home for their large and growing family.  For a spacious house, the kitchen was relatively small and poorly appointed, and though the master bath was also big, it too was badly designed.  We opened and enlarged the kitchen taking down some walls to connect it more fully with the surrounding spaces. We designed a grand island – four-and-a-half feet by eleven feet long – to anchor the kitchen space and provide a gathering place for the family of seven.  The master bathroom as well received the luxury treatment adding a capacious two-person steam shower and a soaking tub as well as private vanities.  We also updated many of the finishes throughout the house replacing the floors, stair surfaces and handrail to make it more fitting to the house as imagined.
