Questions About Architect-Designed Homes
Q: What are the advantages of an architect-designed home?
A: Most homes today are built without input from a licensed architect. Whether they are stock building plans or a large home builder, home design hasn’t evolved much in quite some time. Architect-designed homes are customized to fit your family, your lifestyle, maximize efficiency, and incorporate innovative design solutions. Unlike cookie-cutter houses, they are unique, aesthetically pleasing, and often more efficient in every way.
Q: Do you work with existing homes for renovations and additions?
A: Yes. Whether you’re looking to expand your living space, modernize an outdated home, or enhance its functionality, we specialize in seamless renovations and additions.
Q: Why would I opt for a renovation versus a new construction home?
A: You may love the neighborhood that you live in and your neighbors; you might like the school district your children are in and are not ready to move; it may be a budget or a timing issue, or you may not have found the perfect lot for your new home; you may love many aspects of your current house and want to minimize the environmental impact of building a new home. There are many reasons that you may want to stay in your current home or location where a renovation or an addition may be a better solution for your family than a new construction home. We can offer you a flexible and practical solution to your needs without the costs of a new home.
Q: Can you incorporate sustainable design features in my home?
A: Definitely. Sustainability is more than a buzz word; it is integral to our process. We focus on environmental design principles that take the site and the climate into account; we focus on energy-efficient layouts, sustainable, low-maintenance materials, and smart technology integration to create a healthier home.
Q: How long does it take to design and build an architect-designed home?
A: The timeline varies based on project complexity, permitting, and your schedule. Generally, the design phase can take 3–6 months or more, while construction depends on the scope of work. Most of our renovation projects take 3-6 months for construction.
Q: Do you handle permitting and approvals?
A: Yes, we guide you through the permitting process, ensuring compliance with local zoning and building codes and proper inspections. We manage the necessary approvals so your project moves forward smoothly.

Questions About Kitchen and Bathroom Design
Q: What are the benefits of custom kitchen design?
A: Every family is a little different in how they live, eat, and entertain, and a kitchen is the heart of those activities. A custom-designed kitchen maximizes efficiency, optimizes space, and reflects your personal style. We tailor every aspect, from cabinetry to lighting, countertops, and storage, to create a kitchen that meets your specific needs. We focus on you and your family and how you gather, cook, eat, and entertain.
Q: Can you design a kitchen that integrates my existing appliances?
A: Yes! We create designs that seamlessly incorporate your current appliances (or other items like furniture or lighting) or accommodate new ones for a cohesive look and optimal functionality.
Q: How do you approach bathroom design?
A: We focus on creating bathrooms that are both luxurious and practical. We create spaces that you want to spend time in. Our designs incorporate custom vanities, high-quality materials, space-saving storage, and spa-inspired features to enhance comfort and relaxation.
Q: Can you help with small kitchen or bathroom spaces?
A: Absolutely. We specialize in optimizing space, even in smaller kitchens and bathrooms, through smart layouts, clever storage solutions, and strategic material choices. Good design is critical especially in smaller, more challenging spaces.
Questions About Custom Cabinetry
Q: Why should I choose custom cabinetry over stock cabinets?
A: Custom cabinetry offers superior quality, perfect fit for your space, and personalized design. Unlike stock cabinets, custom options are built to your specifications, ensuring better functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
Q: What materials do you use for custom cabinets?
A: We work with a variety of high-quality materials, including solid hardwoods, plywood, MDF, and eco-friendly options. We also offer a range of finishes, including natural stains, painted finishes, and custom veneers.
Q: Can I customize my cabinets to include special storage solutions?
A: Absolutely! We design cabinets with features such as pull-out shelves, spice racks, drawer dividers, appliance garages, built-in lighting, and hidden compartments to enhance functionality.
Q: How long does it take to design and install custom cabinets?
A: The timeline depends on the complexity of the design and material availability. Typically, the process takes 8–12 weeks from design approval to delivery. Installation depends on scope and complexity.
